Park City

The last couple of days I've been in Park City, Utah. The US Ski Team is hosting a two week camp starting the 1st of October. A couple of us met up a little early to get some testing done. The first day I was here we were suppose to just get use to moving at 7,000 ft. So, Kris Freeman and I went on a rollerski in the morning and a run in the afternoon. Here are some pictures and videos from the camp so far.

A view from the run. This is Deer Valley, hard to see but Park City is on left side of picture.
Top of Deer Valley
Park City is a pretty sweet place. This is a chair lift that starts from the middle of town.

This is video from a test we did on the treadmill yesterday. It's suppose to be pretty much max, you go tell you fall of the back. Video credit to Kikkan Randall

Trying to suck in some oxygen. Pretty tired!

Kincaid Time Trial

The APU team and a couple of guys from UAA raced a time trial this morning. It was a classic race around 10 kilometers. Here is a picture from last years race.
This year the trails weren't quite as nice. The trails were covered with leaves, wet in some places. I guess that means winter is coming sooner this year, right? Sweet. There was a group of about 5 guys that stayed in the front pack. I ended up being able to pole away in the last kilometer for the win. Marc Iverson was second and Reese Hanamen was third.

Double Poling

We had a double pole interval session this morning. I think I've done more double pole intervals in the last 2 months then I've done in the last two years. At the beginning It was soooo hard to make it through a workout, I was doing everything I could to hang on to the group for the last couple intervals. Now I'm starting to feel good! My body is getting stronger, that's always sweet...

I'm racing the Kincaid Stampede rollerski race/time trial on Friday. Check back for an update on that. I will try to get some results.

New Poles!!

I got a sweet new pair of poles a couple weeks ago. They're the Triac Pole made by Swix, defiantly recommend them.
