Seattle Airport

I'm sitting in the Seattle airport right now. Trying to pass time as I wait for my flight to Redmond. I stayed in Wenatchee last night with one of my all time favorite coaches, TJ Owens and then took the 6:00 am flight out this morning. This may be the first time I've made the three hundred miles from the Winthrop to Bend into a two day trip, but it was necessary. I couldn't drive because I will be flying from Bend back to Alaska to spend my summer there.

The last two weeks I spent in the Methow have been great. It's always nice to go home and have home cooked food, and regenerate the body for the next couple of months. My first priority was working out. I put in a lot of hours running because its an easy way to get up out of the valley floor and enjoy the great views. Mazama might just be my favorite training venue in the world. When I wasn't exercising, I was trying to put in hours at the construction site with my dad. He's great about letting me show up just about anytime of the day and can quickly put me to work.

So, that's what I have been up to the last couple weeks. Please spread the word about my new blog. I kind of hope more people are reading the site then just my mother. haha. I will try to post a couple more in the next week or two while I'm in Bend. So keep posted

First Post

Hello everyone, this is my first of many posts. It's a new ski year so I figure it's a good time to start a blog. A lot of changes have happened lately in terms of my ski career. I just decided to transfer colleges after my coach Trond at UAA(University of Alaska Anchorage) stepped down. Luckily the new college, Alaska Pacific University is less then a mile from UAA. The second thing is I got nominated to the United States Ski Team, a goal I have had for the last couple of years. It is very exciting and will be very motivating.
Right now I'm in Bozeman, Montana for my oldest sisters graduation. It's been a blast celebrating with her. Tomorrow I drive back to Winthrop to spend a couple weeks at home training and working with my dad before I head to Bend, Oregon for my first US Ski Team camp. I'm looking forward to new year of training and skiing, hope you all are too. I have a busy summer schedule ahead of me so be sure to keep posted.

Here is a video from some of the great times I had with the University of Alaska Anchorage Team.
